A population is defined as  a group of individuals of the same species living and interbreeding within a given area Individuals of a population can be distributed in one of three basic patterns: they can be  more or less equally spaced apart (uniform dispersion), dispersed randomly with no predictable pattern (random dispersion), or clustered in groups (clumped dispersion) . What are the 4 major types population  They are: Finite Population. Infinite Population. Existent Population. Hypothetical Population. There are three factors that influence population change:  birth rate, death rate, and migration . Though one or two of these factors can influence a population in a particular area, all three impact population change. This section will define these factors and explore what can cause them to shift. What are the 10 causes of population growth? Causes of population growth Fertility rates. Increase in longevity. International migration. Increase in climate cha...

Regional geography

Road transport services in SADC  plays a pivotal role in distribution of goods to and from the region . It is estimated that about 90% of the cargo flow into and out of the region, is carried by road and transport accounts for about 5% of GDP in some SADC countries. Why are transportation routes important? Cities and towns that are on major transport routes sometimes act as distribution centers in which products and commodities are warehoused and then sent on to other destinations. Transport routes also  bring visitors and tourism to settlements . What are the transport corridors in SADC? In particular, three primary corridors –  the North-South Corridor running north from Durban, South Africa; the Maputo Corridor running through Mozambique, and the Dar-es-Salaam Corridor in Tanzania  – are the focus of most development. What is the importance of route? First and foremost,  route planning can help to improve customer satisfaction by ensuring that deliveri...

Resources

Sustainable use of natural resources  helps to preserve the environment and reduce pollution, protecting both human health and ecosystems . It also helps to conserve resources for future generations, ensuring that our descendants will have access to the same materials we do today. Renewable resources include  solar energy, wind, falling water, the heat of the earth (geothermal), plant materials (biomass), waves, ocean currents, temperature differences in the oceans and the energy of the tides . This means that nonrenewable resources are limited in supply and cannot be used sustainably. There are four major types of nonrenewable resources:  oil, natural gas, coal, and nuclear energy . Oil, natural gas, and coal are collectively called fossil fuels. What is the difference between renewable and nonrenewable energy resources? Renewable resources will naturally replenish themselves over time, like wind, solar, plants, trees, etc.   Non-renewable will be gone foreve...
